QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
How well does this chair handle sand?
The all-terrain tires on the PW-4x4Q allows it to operate well in the sand. As sand conditions may vary, the chair will operate better on harder sand. We also sell optional, extra-wide beach tires (https://mpowerchairs.com/products/wheelchair88-all-terrain-beach-tires-for-pw-4x4q-power-wheelchair) that allow the chair to operate in all conditions more efficiently. They are easy to swap out as well. Please give us a call at 208-918-0988 if you have further questions or if you plan on ordering the beach tires as the website isn't always up to date on inventory for it.
Is the 29.5″ width the smallest, or do you have thinner wheels? Does it fit on an AMS van ramp?
Yes, the 29.5" width is the smallest. The optional wider tires will add 2" to the total width.
It will fit on an AMS van ramp as long as the ramp is wide enough and the entry opening is tall enough to accommodate its 47.2" height.
Can this chair be controlled by caregiver
There are two ways in which a caregiver can control this chair.
1) Through the attendant seat attached to the back at an additional cost. Sample photo below. Red color not available.
2) By detaching the controller and having a caregiver walk next to it.
